Performance carburettor setup with Low Profile linkage
Designed for owners of MG Midget and Sprite 1275cc A Series engines looking for a performance-focused carburettor installation, this WEBER 45 DCOE kit brings together the main components required for a clean and compact conversion.
The kit combines a genuine WEBER 45 DCOE carburettor with an aluminium inlet manifold, a Low Profile throttle linkage system and two 26mm aluminium air horns.
It provides a strong foundation for tuned A Series engines while retaining the familiar serviceability and extensive tuning options of the WEBER DCOE design.
WEBER 45 DCOE for the 1275cc A Series
The WEBER 45 DCOE is a twin-choke side-draught carburettor designed for applications where airflow capacity and carburettor tuning flexibility are important.
On a tuned 1275cc A Series engine, the 45 DCOE offers considerable scope for calibration through its range of available tuning components.
This makes it particularly suitable for performance MG Midget and Sprite builds, fast-road cars and upgraded classic restorations.
Kit Contents
The kit contains:
- 1 genuine WEBER 45 DCOE carburettor
- 1 aluminium inlet manifold assembly
- Studs
- Soft mounts
- 1 Low Profile throttle linkage system
- 2 x 26mm aluminium air horns
- 1 WEBER tuning manual
- Starter cable
The Low Profile linkage arrangement keeps the throttle mechanism compact around the carburettor installation.
Performance-Oriented Carburation
Choosing a 45 DCOE provides a wide range of tuning possibilities for A Series engines that have been upgraded beyond standard specification.
The DCOE format is particularly popular where the priority is:
- crisp throttle response
- increased airflow capability
- extensive tuning potential
- a broad range of calibration options
- performance engine applications
- proven classic motorsport and fast-road technology
The final results will depend on the engine specification and correct carburettor calibration.
26mm Aluminium Air Horns
This kit includes two 26mm aluminium air horns.
They form part of the supplied carburettor installation and allow the WEBER 45 DCOE to be prepared for use with a suitable filtration system.
Air Filter Available Separately
A suitable mesh air filter for the WEBER 45 DCOE is available separately.
Part number: PAFAFM4563
Low Profile Linkage
The WEBCON Low Profile throttle linkage is one of the key features of this kit.
Its compact layout has been developed for the WEBER 45 DCOE installation on the MG Midget / Sprite 1275, providing a practical throttle-control solution around the carburettor.
The kit also includes the studs and soft mounts required for the inlet manifold installation.
Recommended Low-Pressure Fuel Pump
We recommend fitting the kit with a low-pressure fuel pump.
Part number: PAFWFP17303
12 V pump with a pressure range of 0.17–0.30 bar / 2.5–4.5 PSI.

Genuine WEBER Carburettor
PAFClassic is an official distributor of WEBER and WEBCON products.
All WEBER carburettors supplied by PAFClassic are genuine WEBER units manufactured in Spain under Magneti Marelli licence.
We have access to more than 11,000 carburettor and spare-part references, together with the WEBER technical library.
This gives us access to the components required for servicing, tuning and repairing genuine WEBER carburettors.
Beware of WEBER Copies
WEBER-style copies are now widely available.
Although they can be cheaper to purchase, manufacturing quality and internal components may vary significantly.
Jets and other calibration parts are not always compatible with genuine WEBER components, which can make accurate tuning more difficult.
For a performance Midget / Sprite installation, we recommend using a genuine WEBER carburettor.
