Performance DCOE installation for the B Series engine
Upgrade your MGB 1800 B Series with a purpose-developed WEBER 45 DCOE conversion.
The kit is centred around a genuine WEBER 45 DCOE carburettor, matched with an aluminium inlet manifold, throttle linkage and choke cable.
The 45 DCOE is particularly suited to tuned MGB engines and performance-oriented builds where airflow capacity and carburettor tuning flexibility are important.
WEBER 45 DCOE Calibrated for the B Series
The kit includes a genuine Spanish-made WEBER 45 DCOE, supplied with calibration developed for the 1800 B Series engine.
This provides a strong starting point for installation while retaining the extensive tuning possibilities associated with the DCOE platform.
The 45 DCOE is widely used in classic performance applications thanks to its airflow capability and broad range of available tuning components.
Kit Includes
- 1 genuine WEBER 45 DCOE carburettor
- Carburettor calibrated for the B Series 1800
- 1 aluminium inlet manifold
- 1 throttle linkage set
- 1 high-quality choke cable
- Soft mounts
- Mounting hardware
The kit is designed for fitting one WEBER 45 DCOE to the MGB B Series engine.
Why Choose a WEBER 45 DCOE?
The WEBER 45 DCOE is a well-established choice for classic performance engine builds.
Compared with the traditional twin SU arrangement, the DCOE offers a different approach to engine fuelling, with extensive scope for calibration and airflow tuning.
This conversion is particularly suited to owners looking for:
- sharp throttle response
- increased airflow potential
- extensive carburettor tuning options
- compatibility with tuned engines
- a more performance-focused driving setup
- proven classic performance technology
Actual results will depend on the engine specification, ignition system, exhaust system and final carburettor calibration.
Inlet Manifold and Vacuum Take-Off
The supplied aluminium inlet manifold is designed specifically for fitting the WEBER 45 DCOE to the MGB 1800 B Series.
The manifold also provides a brake-servo vacuum take-off.
A suitable vacuum take-off fitting is available separately:
Part number: PAF9990404400
Installation Dimensions
DCOE installations can require careful attention to available space on the MGB.
Manifold Depth
- Manifold top to bottom: 13 cm
Overall Depth
- Manifold + soft mount + carburettor: 25 cm
- This measurement does not include the air horns
Air Horns
Standard air horns add approximately:
- 6.3 cm
Shorter air horns can be supplied where additional clearance is required.
Please check the available space in the engine bay before selecting the final air filtration and air-horn arrangement.
Available Air Filters
Several filtration options are available for this installation.
WEBER DCOE Chrome Oval Air Filter
Part number: PAFAFB302
Mesh / Trumpet Filter
Part number: PAFAFM4563
These are available separately and allow the filtration setup to be selected according to the space available around the carburettor.
Recommended Low-Pressure Fuel Pump
We recommend fitting the kit with a self-regulating electric low-pressure fuel pump.
Part number: PAFWFP17303
Pressure range: 0.17–0.30 bar / 2.5–4.5 PSI.
Correct fuel pressure is important for reliable operation of a WEBER carburettor.

Genuine WEBER Carburettor
PAFClassic is an official distributor of WEBER and WEBCON products.
All WEBER carburettors supplied by PAFClassic are genuine WEBER units manufactured in Spain under Magneti Marelli licence.
We have access to more than 11,000 carburettor and spare-part references, together with the WEBER technical library.
This allows us to source the correct components for servicing, tuning and repairing genuine WEBER carburettors.
Beware of WEBER Copies
WEBER-style copies are now widely available.
Although they can be attractive on price, manufacturing quality and internal components can vary considerably.
Jets and other calibration components may not always be compatible with genuine WEBER parts, making precise tuning more difficult.
For a performance MGB installation, we recommend choosing a genuine WEBER carburettor.
