How does the pump/acceleration circuit works on a Weber DCOE Carburettor.

The lever (25), by means of the connecting rod (27), acts on the piston (26). When the butterflies close, the piston rises and fuel is drawn from the tank into the pump cylinder through the suction valve (23).
By opening the butterflies, the connecting rod (27) remains free and the piston (26) is pushed downwards by its spring (28).
Fuel is pushed through the conduits via the delivery valve (21) to the pump jets (24) and then injected into the carburettor conduits.
The suction valve (23) is provided with a calibrated hole ensuring the return to the tank of the fuel delivered in excess by the accelerator pump.
