FORD Pinto
Launched in the 1970s, the Ford Pinto was one of the first mass-produced engines to have an overhead camshaft, driven by a toothed belt.
Two versions exist, the Cortina / RS2000 and the Sierra which is generally for unleaded fuel.
The PINTO engine is found primarily in the Cortina MK3, MK4 and MK5 / Taunus / Capri / Escort MK1, MK2 / Granada and Transit. These engines have a rear oil pan made of steel, while the RS2000 versions have an aluminum one.
When viewed from the front, the intake is on the right and the exhaust is on the left.
