Twin SU replacement for improved road drivability

This WEBER 32/36 DGAV conversion kit has been developed for the MGB fitted with the 1800 B Series engine.

It replaces the traditional twin SU carburettor arrangement with a genuine WEBER 32/36 DGAV, together with a purpose-made inlet manifold, throttle linkage and air filter.

Developed to improve engine flexibility, drivability and overall usability compared with the original twin SU setup.

WEBER 32/36 DGAV with Automatic Choke

The 32/36 DGAV is a particularly practical choice for a road-going MGB.

Its automatic choke makes cold starting more convenient and reduces the need for manual choke adjustment during warm-up.

The carburettor supplied is a genuine Spanish-made WEBER, calibrated for the 1800 B Series engine.

The progressive 32/36 design also provides smooth operation during normal driving while allowing increased airflow as engine demand increases.

Kit Includes

  • 1 genuine WEBER 32/36 DGAV carburettor
  • Automatic choke
  • Carburettor calibrated for the B Series 1800
  • 1 inlet manifold
  • 1 throttle linkage set
  • 1 high-quality air filter
  • Soft mounts
  • Studs
  • Nuts
  • Mounting hardware

The complete package is designed to convert an MGB 1800 from twin SU carburettors to WEBER 32/36 DGAV.

A Practical Alternative to Twin SU Carburettors

The original SU carburettors are an important part of the MGB's heritage, but ageing twin-carburettor systems can require careful adjustment and regular maintenance.

The WEBER 32/36 DGAV offers a different approach, combining a progressive twin-barrel design with an automatic choke.

The conversion is intended to provide:

  • improved engine flexibility
  • progressive throttle response
  • easier everyday operation
  • more convenient cold starting
  • improved driveability
  • potential fuel-economy benefits
  • straightforward servicing and tuning

The kit was developed specifically for the MGB B Series engine.

Calibrated for the B Series 1800

The supplied carburettor is not simply a universal WEBER combined with a generic manifold.

The 32/36 DGAV is calibrated for the B Series 1800 application, providing a suitable starting point for installation and subsequent tuning.

The WEBER design also allows further adjustment using the appropriate genuine calibration components.

Recommended Low-Pressure Fuel Pump

We recommend using a low-pressure fuel pump with this conversion.

Part number: PAFWFP17303

12 V pump with a pressure range of 0.17–0.30 bar / 2.5–4.5 PSI.

Genuine WEBER Carburettor

PAFClassic is an official distributor of WEBER and WEBCON products.

All WEBER carburettors supplied by PAFClassic are genuine WEBER units manufactured in Spain under Magneti Marelli licence.

We have access to more than 11,000 carburettor and spare-part references, together with the WEBER technical library.

This gives us access to the components required for servicing, repairing and tuning genuine WEBER carburettors.

Beware of WEBER Copies

WEBER-style carburettors are now widely available from a variety of sources.

While some copies may appear attractive on price, manufacturing quality and internal components can vary.

Jets and calibration components may not always be compatible with genuine WEBER parts, which can make accurate tuning more difficult.

For a classic MGB, we recommend choosing a genuine WEBER carburettor.
