AFS-1 Lambda Probe and Gauge Kit
Our Lambda kit allows you to know the air/fuel ratio (also called AFR, for Air Fuel Ratio in English) of your engine while driving.
This is a critical parameter that is very important to monitor in order to optimize engine performance while preserving its reliability.
Too rich can decrease your performance and have consequences on lubrication (phenomenon of dilution of unburned fuel in the oil), and too lean can generate very high temperatures and irreparably damage the internals of the engine.
Kit includes:
Gauge, lambda probe, connectors, electrical harness, probe support to be welded onto exhaust, assembly instructions.
Pressure gauge dimensions: 68mm x 38mm
How does it work?
The sensor transmits its signal (oxygen level in the exhaust gases) to the gauge, which displays the air/fuel ratio on a screen using colored LEDs, changing from red (lean) to green (rich). The air/fuel ratio typically varies from 12.5:1 to 15.0:1 AFR.
This kit is compatible with cars with negative ground, carburetor, injection, methanol or propane.
Note that using leaded petrol may contaminate and reduce the lifespan of the probe.
Installing the sensor is very simple. Just drill a 16mm (5/8") diameter hole in the exhaust (near the manifold) and weld the sensor bracket in place. The wiring harness connects to the sensor and the gauge, powered by a 12V connection (direct or via a switch) and a ground.
