Ford Type 2 and Type 3 Gearbox Lever Plastic Pivot

This plastic gearbox lever pivot, also known as a gear lever saddle clip, is designed for Ford Type 2 and Type 3 gearboxes. It supports and guides the gear lever to help maintain accurate gear selection.

Applications – Type 3 Gearboxes

• Ford Capri Mk1 1.3 / 1.6 OHV, 1.6 OHC and 2.0 V4 – 1969 to 1974

• Ford Capri Mk2 1.6 OHC – 1974 to 1978

• Ford Capri Mk3 1.6 OHC – 1978 to 1982

• Ford Cortina Mk3 1.3 / 1.6 / 1.6 GT – 1970 to 1976

• Ford Cortina Mk4 1.3 / 1.6 (excluding GT) – 1976 to 1979

• Ford Cortina Mk5 1.3 / 1.6 (excluding GT) – 1979 to 1982

• Ford Escort Mk1 1.1 / 1.3 – 1968 to 1974

Ford Type 2 Gearbox Specifications

The Ford Type 2 is a 4-speed manual gearbox primarily fitted to Ford Escort Mk1 and Mk2 models, excluding RS, Mexico and Twin Cam versions. It was also used in some early entry-level Ford Sierra models.

Type 2 gearbox characteristics:

• Integral, non-removable cast-iron clutch bellhousing

• Aluminium gearbox tail housing

• 7/8" diameter input shaft with 20 splines

• Oil capacity: 0.9 litre
